Moderating the forums to insure everything is appropriate! This is a family forum and we don't need to deal with "crap".

Not at all, no special equipment needed.
Reason for asking is I'm moving back up to NH and it would be difficult for me to make all the meetings, swaps, ect..
Eventually I'd like to hand the forum over to someone local who's going to keep it running and contribute a lot of time and effort as I've already done, it took me awhile to build this forum and would like someone just as dedicated as I am.

Dude that Sucks! Don't leave.....anyway I got slingblade and captbenjy to join will get some more. I would love to moderate just let me know what you need and when. I have some ideas for the club so pm me if you want and will discuss it with you. Would love to meet and maybe work things out with you about the club.

Yeah he drilled my tank and been supporting me ever since lol. Ok I was thinking about getting sponsors including lfs and Doing a membership drive. Contacting each member and try to start doing monthly or bimonthly meetings /frag swaps all around the state to increase membership. Just some things I was thinking about and discussed with slingblade.

It would have to tie in with a sponsor donating equipment or supplies but the person that gets the most new members wins the equipment. Or we volunteer set up a booth at a lfs and hand out fliers to people to make them aware we exist.

Advertising a forum on another forum is usually against TOS agreements. But using the name where we can would help. I created the Facebook page for the local pet store here in town. They have 200 likes I think. It would be easy o parlay that into more members. We can do out own Facebook page. All our friend would like it, the lfs would like it and then auto exposed to thousands of people. But how to drive that exposure home?  Just because my friend that is in med school sees a reef forum he may or may not look because he is so busy. But it's exposure none the less. In order to really grow we need someone to help. We need our members to support those who support us. So we need a way to help our lfs grow his salt clientele in order to get him to order more cool ****. Lol. Woul also like to get some support from the gulf coast ree society. Which is basically a club, but not. Their goal is to help vendors and hobbyists by providin both with what they want. Their goal is to see how they can help grow business traffic in stores and at the same time they set up events where vendors set up product tables. And have mini Macna events. I would love to see this grow. I will do what I can to help. |
