Lounge posting rules & Guidelines

The Problem
The lounge has historically been the most difficult/time-consuming place for the moderation crew to manage. As a result, we have created rules for posting in this forum and a few guidelines that may be helpful to you in determining if your post is appropriate. But before we get to the "rules", please read the purpose of this forum:
Purpose
The lounge is a place to post non-reef related questions and topics of general interest for discussion by members. This does not mean the lounge is fair game to post anything you like. All of our other basic posting rules and guidelines still apply to this forum: be polite, have a point, keep it family-oriented...or in the 'negative'...don't insult other members, don't post useless dribble, and don't post anything that other members are likely to consider offensive.
Guidelines
At the time I wrote this post, I found the following examples of "good" lounge posts:
Anybody recommend a good orthopedic doctor?
snow board lessons?
First time Home Buyer - need any advice
These posts are either looking for information or providing information (or at least a platform for topical discussion).
The lounge is not intended or designed to be a general "chat area". Don't create a thread or post unless it has something of substance behind it. If you feel the club would benefit from having such an area, please raise the issue in a private message to me.
