I setup my first reef tank about 6 weeks ago (75g with 20g sump), bought used from the Jungle. I currently have about 95 pounds of live rock and 60 pounds of sand. A handful of small corals, not sure names of all. Some fish, snails, crabs...
I have been researching using a UV sterilizer because I had heard they would help keep the fish healthy. But will they be bad for corals? Half the reviews and people I ask say they use them and recommend them, the other half say no.
So are UV sterilizers a good investment for a reef aquarium or not?

I do not have one (simply because I don't see a need for one in my setup) however my father in law had one on his 55 long and kept several species of lps and softies with no ill effects

I wouldn't spend the money on one, only 1 reason to buy one would be green water, it's not necessary
