I'm at the point in my build that I need to make a decision about my tank lighting. Tank is 60*24*24. I like leds but also like the growth of t5's. Should I go led all the way t5 all the way or a combo of both? I like the new Ai hydra's and Vega color I also like the maxspect razor 160 watt. (Leaning hard towards the razor). Please give me your opinions guys. Oh I want to grow montis lps (heavy on lps) softies and shrooms.

Oh man, that mazspect razor is pretty nice. I switched over to led's for this newest build and have experienced excellent growth from sps, leathers and as of recently the frogspawn I purchased has responded very well to leds. I once heard that aside from intensity acclimation some coral also took a little longer to adapt/acclimate to the type of lighting. No idea if this holds any water(scuse the pun). I do know that many decent led brands out there are never run at full strength which would lead me to believe that the right led would be plenty of light to support all types of growth.

I've had what I would consider good results, never used anything but LED pendants from orphek. Have not had any problem growing SPS . When acclimating just start with egg crate to diffuse light.

Me personally never using LEDs would go with a led t5 combo, I don't think led is quite there yet, there close but not as good as the good ol proven t5 or MH, just my .02

Check out the Pacific Sun Pandora lights. Basically the same LEDs I have Charles but with T5 bulbs on each side. Kinda pricey, but built like a brick **** house.
